This year we tried something different for our Annual Christmas Party. We combined the efforts of the children, adults and Santa and went caroling around Delmar. Threatened with rain- boy was it cold- we had a good turnout. Twenty six braved the elements and we were off in the night through the streets of Delmar spreading good tidings. At my urging, over the protests of Santa and the carolers, the driver headed back to the library. When we returned, we were greeted by several adults who elected to keep the home fires burning and served everyone hot chocolate and cookies (the cookies compliments of the Delmar Friends). Santa talked with the children and anyone else who had a Christmas wish list and gave out presents. The over-all program was very well received, well enough that several carolers asked if we were planning to do it again next year.

Our annual monopoly tournament ( the 6th) was well attended. We had 15 children and 17 adults. We started at noon with three full tables;  by 4:00 our dinner break time , we were down to four players to play off for the grand prize, a trophy. Everyone feasted on Domino's Pizza, it disappeared so quickly one has to wonder if was even tasted, cookies, chips and various pastries rounded out the food. Everyone drank juice, this Mama is not a big fan of soda. Attending was the first player to go out last year. "I don't even think I lasted and hour" he said. Guess what??? He was the grand prize winner this year. Last year's winner came back ready to play and be a back to back winner, he came in second. What a good sportsman, he congratulated Josh and they shook hands unprompted by the adults attending. This year we had one of the youngest players reach the final four. AHHH , the agony of defeat, but she is already planning to return next year. Also new to the final four, was Puller's younger brother, Hunter. He was pleased to be in the finals. At 8:00 we left the Hayman Room, vacuumed and tidy already anticipating next MLK holiday and MONOPOLY
